Belated #2: Secret Santa

I saw this constellation runner on design sponge around the same time I made the embroidered placemat and chose it for my secret santa :)

Belated #1: Sashiko Embroidery

I had more free time on my hands (read: early November...) and was itching to get some crafting done. Unfortunately, I lent my sewing machine to my mother so clothes-making was not a feasible option. Perusing my list of projects, I decided to make decorative placemats with Sashiko embroidery. Free templates are my best friend :)

So, I drew this pattern onto my fabric and stitched it up! 

I have other patterns saved for later, but only had time to make one so far...and it's not even sewed to completion! Who knew embroidery would take so long? 

Halloween!

I was invited to a halloween party where, obviously, costumes are mandatory. As I was struggling to come up with something, I remembered buying this fabric [read: baby bed sheets] a couple years ago at a thrift store and decided to get sewing.

Bracelet craze

I took a trip to Cali in April during a brief respite from school and came across a bead store that I recognized from some DIY projects by Honestly...WTF and realized I should buy everything I would ever need to fulfill the Macrame bracelet tutorial.

Since then, I've also made a few braided bead bracelets. Mine is blue with a brown button, but I've misplaced it :(

And to further my bracelet making binge, my first Whimsey Box [purchased for my birthday] is a leather wrap bracelet! I have been seeing these in stores and was about to go buy supplies to make one myself before this DIY box arrived. What a co-ink-ee-dink!
